VINTAGE BOWLING.

I've got bowling on the brain. A date night actually. With another couple. A little bowling challenge. It's been awhile since I wore those awesome shoes. These vintage bowling pins won't really help cure my bowling date night on the brain problem, but they would look absolutely darling in a childs' room ready to be played with at any given moment. Found here. Off to search for matching bowling shirts now!

LOVING...

I've been loving this paper cut-out print by Tina Tarnoff for some time now. Maybe because after 15 years of marriage, I am still IN LOVE! Valentine's Day is coming up. My favorite holiday. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? You should....it's all about love. And, love is a beautiful thing.

MY GO-TO BOOT THIS WINTER.

Found at Nine West Outlet. Sold out everywhere. Bummer. Wish I had bought them in black also. To see how I am wearing them....click here.

LUCKY PENNY.

Lucky Penny brand handbags are giving me serious butterflies these day. Found at Anthropologie. The cutest part about the bags are the fun printed colorful linings inside and the little coin slot for a 'lucky penny'! I have a charcoal ruffled Lucky Penny handbag that I love. The leather is so soft and supple with a vintage feel and look. And, while they are not necessarily cheap...they aren't as expensive as Coach!

So pretty, even for eggs. Makes me want to have a chicken coop with cute little chickens. Makes me want to put on an apron and go collect eggs. Until I have the property to have my own chicken coop, I'll just have to unpack my store bought brown cage free eggs and put them into the fridge in this pretty little egg crate so that I can open my fridge and dream of owning property with a chicken coop. Found at Anthro. Holds a perfect dozen.
Happy weekend!

COZY NECK COWL.

Get one while they're hot and it is still cold! My girlfriend is making them and selling them on her etsy site Katherine Handmade. I really love this one as well as the granny square cowls listed for sale. And did I mention....she offers free shipping on most of her items! She really is a cutie.

FLOUR SUGAR SHAKERS.

These vintage beauties were found at a great antique shop in the LA area while Dave and I were on our little love getaway driving our new old car home to our family. More on that story here. My tag line for my Funky Vintage Kitchen Etsy site says, "handmade items and vintage finds for home, child and you". I keep picking up sweet vintage finds, but I am having a hard time parting with them. Can you blame me?

PILLOW ME PRETTY.

Happy New Year's my lovies! I scored this pretty little pillow today after reading a recommendation from Cjane to visit the Pillow Factory on Etsy. I am sorry to say that I got the only one. But Etsy is full of lots of lovelies.

I have had a hard time keeping up on all of my blogs. I mostly post on my family blog over at 4Kennedys and am seriously considering consolidating all my blogs to one. Incorporating fun family updates, recent wonderful finds that give me butterflies and updates on my shop Funky Vintage Kitchen. It just might make life easier, plus one blog just might please more people....kind of like one stop shopping!

I'll keep you all posted.

MY OWN INTERPRETATION OF TEXTURED TIGHTS!

My daughter said upon seeing me walk out of my bedroom for church Sunday morning, "For some reason that insanely works together." Score one for mommy's style!

WANT. NEED. WEAR. READ.

We followed this theme for gift giving last Christmas. Our children could pick one gift they wanted for each category. Plain and simple.....it was fun! And easy on the budget. Christmas morning wasn't overwhelming and each gift was cherished. We are looking forward to following the same theme this year. And next year. And so on. You can find lovely gift tags here at Dandee Designs. She was who inspired me last year to go with it!

I have been wanting to replace my "F A M I L Y" letters above my fireplace with silhouettes of our family. I picture them large in black and white with teal photo mats framing each one. We received a large silhouette as a graduation gift from Blake's preschool teachers a few years ago and it turned out perfect. Looks just like him! I've been wanting to give it a try.

GIVE THE GIFT OF GREEN!

With most peoples budgets tight this year for holiday gift giving, I thought this set of 5 earth and fashion friendly reusable shopping bags by Envirosax would make great gifts divided up. Tie a red ribbon around the already neatly rolled up sack, add a tag and hand out to your hairdresser, babysitter, party hostess, girlfriend, teacher, and the list could go on and on. A set of five costs $37.95 plus shipping. That puts you under $10 per gift. And look how freakin' cute the bags in this set are below. All of them! Found here.

I really don't think it gets much cuter than that.

birds of a feather...

I am in love with the idea of a sumptuous feather atop a crown of slight curls. The vintage look and feel of the feather headband makes me giddy. I cannot decide between these three headbands from Mod Cloth. I know I just did a post on Mod Cloth, but there's too many great things on the website to pass up. For example:
The Crawford Headband:

The Night Lily Headband:

The Osprey Headband:

The prices are so reasonable, I could justify getting all three...
